Whoever can guess who said these quotes gets a cookie.

"I believe today that my conduct is in accordance with the will of the Almighty Creator.

What we have to fight for...is the freedom and independence of the fatherland, so that our people may be enabled to fulfill the mission assigned to it by the Creator."

Easy. Hitler.

Interesting. I somehow attributed it to Bush.

So have a lot of people. I'm not trying to prove a point here, but I just found it the connection to be quite ironic.

Hitler wasn't Christian. He was trying to get support from his people.

People need to stop comparing Hitler to Bush. They're are two completely different people. Hitler banned citizens from owning guns. Bush supports gun rights. Hitler was a socialist. Bush is a capitalist. Hitler was against free speech, punishing anyone who spoke out against him. Bush supports free speech. He didn't have a problem with the Dixie Chicks or Michael Moore. In fact, he welcomed their opinions.

And those of you who believe that the rest of the world thinks rationally about this kind of stuff, here is an image that might surprise you:

I finally found the quote.

Goebbels: "The Fuhrer is deeply religous, though completely anti-Christian. He views Christianity as a symptom of decay. Rightly so. It is a branch of the Jewish race... Both [Judaism and Christianity] have no point of contact to the animal element, and thus, in the end, they will be destroyed. The Fuhrer is a convinced vegetarian, on principle. His arguments cannot be refuted on any serious basis. They are totally unanswerable."

So in summary, Hitler was anti-Christian, and a vegetarian.

If anything I just find really interesting what conclusions different people are drawing from just two sentences.

I actually didn't think Bush was like Hitler.. only that the quote would seem like something Bush would say given his religion oriented speeches.

If you see the picture below, some even depicted Clinton as Hitler. I think the comparison is merely metaphorical, but nothing exact... maybe more of a warning to be wary of any actions that infringes on our rights (Patriot Act struck a red flag) than a genuine belief that they are one in the same.

Clinton as Hitler. Heh. I wonder how many other US presidents have been caricatured with that little moustache?

Clinton is no Hitler either.

The Patriot Act is still brand new so I'm pretty sure it's still going to have to go through some revisions.
