Because OMG I always have to take these things farther...

Tagged by the evil Jenntrude. Because of this, I'm writing drabbles (100 word compositions) for each thingie! =P

Name 5 of life's simple pleasures that you like most, then pick 5 people to do the same. Try to be original and creative and not to use things that someone else has already used. Tag 5 people on your list.

1. Walks

Some people view walking as an exercise or a method of transportation. Her opinion on walking is different, she walks to get lost, whether it is location wise, or simply, to get lost in the moment. Like Columbus accidentally discovered America, she makes her own little discoveries, such as the English tea room that she stumbled upon that have the best scones, or the ritzy neighborhood that rains down red leaves in the autumn. And while she needs a little help getting back home, she ties a mental ribbon around these locations so that she could get lost there again.

2. Books

When she moved from her last apartment, she discovers that most of her possessions are books. Yet, as she organizes them, she finds it difficult to part with them as she thumbs through the yellowed pages. Because to her, these books are doors to other worlds when reality gets too heavy to bear. Being the escapist that she is, she slips in and runs free, having adventures alongside the hero, slaying dragons, and comes back invigorated to take her own challenges. To leave some of these worlds behind closes a chapter and the burden of reality is a bit heavier.

3. Cold winter nights

While she claims that she has a good constitution against the cold, she's actually lying. Sweaters are layered on, an afghan is wrapped around her legs, and a mug of hot tea's in her hands as she curls up under her comforter. But she's attracted to the romance of a crisp winter night and loves the feeling of being safe and warm under piles of blankets as she lies on her stomach and reads from her laptop. It's a simple pleasure, but rather delightful, especially if that one author has updated and there's chocolate to nibble on alongside her tea.

4. Socks

The hobbit in her hates her feet being confined, yet she has to admit that socks have their charm. There are long ones, short ones, plain ones, colorful ones, fuzzy ones, so many kinds of socks and the funny thing is that no one ever sees them. The purpose of socks are to keep your feet warm and blister free inside of whatever shoe you wear that day, yet socks are undeniably an incarnation for your true character, the bright splash of fabric hidden underneath the leather exterior that you show others. Personally, she's partial to the ones have prints.

5. Scribbles

Although she's a showoff, there are little things she creates that wouldn't make sense to others. Her scribblings are like odds and ends of string found all over place, scribbled on napkins, the back of receipts, and in the curled corners of sketchbooks. They are hidden inside her harddrive, tucked in-between the corners of her desk, and even she doesn't know where they come from or their final destination. It's finding the missing button inside the refrigerator, when she comes across it, she'll scribble it out, polish it up, and put it for display, and then go scribble around again.

Open to anyone who wants to try this, I especially encourage writers because this is a fun writing excercise and it doesn't take that long to do!
