What ho what ho what ho!
I adore Netflix, they are doing well in feeding my addiction to Hugh Laurie and Stephan Fry and supplying me with loads of Jeeves and Wooster DVDs! Now if they only added Q.I. to their collection, I'd be a happy girl indeed!
There's a few drawings up on
bluejeanius, mostly pages from my sketchbooks and a few character design styles explorations. It's stuff that I currently have in my portfolio and I got good reviews on them. I have a few drawings from the Natural History Museum that I need to scan in, it was great practice drawing there and I think I'll go back again next Saturday. I went with Stephanie, a fellow intern, but I think I'll go by myself next week so I can try doing more things.
When I went home yesterday, I had 'the chat' with my parents about the fact that my internship is ending. While I had hoped for a job, it's a bad time right now because of the holidays and no one's hiring. The jobs will come again once the new year starts and a plethora of listings will probably closer to March. It's what I'm hoping for. Anyway, until then, we agreed that I'd be staying in Pasadena since it's closer to the studios and the fact that there's currently no place for me to stay at my parents' house since my grandmother and uncle are currently over there. Although my uncle's looking for his own place, Charlie goes home every weekend so I can't stay in his room and the pool house is in bad shape so I've been sleeping on the couch or on the floor of Timmy's room whenever I go visit. Dad even suggested I travel during this time, which nearly made me drop my laptop in near shock. So I may be flying away sometime in either January or February, I'm just not sure to where. I definetely want to visit Alix, or maybe go back to Boston again and stay longer this time, or go to Chicago to visit Edgar from ACCD, or finally go to Europe! But Mom wants to go to Europe with me so that's kinda out since we could go together. It's just like ACCD to offer a freaking trip to London RIGHT AFTER I GRADUATE! Sketching at historic places, painting at Stonehenge, staying at pubs and bed and breakfasts, tours at Oxford and Cambridge, GAH it makes me boil with envy. Charlie was offered a trip to Europe by UCI where he attends, but was talking about turning it down so he could go on another mission trip. I was like SEND ME INSTEEEAAD!
Maybe I'll be like Mira and be the Worldwide Traveler with just a sketchbook, pencil case, and a rolly suitcase to see me throug. I'm pretty sad that I don't have a job yet, my dream for myself is to be completely financially independent by doing art with no support from my parents whatsoever. But that dream will have to wait I suppose. At least I'll get to travel and see sights, once I'm tied down with a job, there probably wouldn't be a chance to do anything.
Cheerio until the next update!
