I am a Grumpy Bunny
Been working on putting a sketchbook together. I had hoped to be finished by Sunday but getting sick knocked me back. Dammit body! Why did you betray me?
Anyway, I'm still alive! I'm just grumpy, that's all. While working on my sketchbook, I listened to 'SHADA' the Big Finish Doctor Who radio play. IT IS AWEEESOOOMEEEEEE~ As soon as I heard it, I couldn't help but grin because it is SUCH a Douglas Adams script. Need to give it a second listen when I'm not feeling all BLEGH.
Ilana came to visit me on Saturday and we went out to Little Tokyo West for a day of curry, karaoke, cream puffs, Japanese book shop, Japanese grocery store, and lots of other fun things! I missed karaoke! I haven't done it in ages! I even sang 'Crucify My Love' by X Japan a la Kie and Paff style~ it made me all nostalgic. I also sang 'I Am What I Am' (a la John Barrowman) which I LOVE and we ended by singing 'Sit on My Face' by Monty Python. Yes, they do have that song at karaoke. It's pretty fantastic.
Apparently, a tv show is coming to film in my neighborhood this week. I'm used to seeing and avoiding huge film trucks and stuff, it's a given when you live in LA, but this is the first time someone's actually come to film in my neighborhood. The X-files filmed an episode on my high school gym during freshman year, my high school was the exterior and often times interior for the Wonder Years, yadda yadda. Used to it. But this is going to SUUUUUUUCK in terms of parking for the end of this week since they've basically laid claim to our (tiny, narrow) street on their filming days. My plan is basically to NOT DRIVE AT ALL on those days and just keep my car in the garage so that at least, my car won't be blocking anyone else's car that needs to come and go.
To be fair, the production is doing a good job keeping the neighborhood informed and being extra nice to us, but still. We get a lot of people trying to mooch off the already limited space in this neighborhood and to add GIGANTIC trailers isn't helping. But hey, this is just me being grumpy.
I keep thinking that it'd be hilarious if the various neighborhood cats kept darting into their shots. Especially the tuxedo cat who probably owns this neighborhood!

TOLD YOU SO.
Srsly, Shada is, aside from awesome, a crowning example of the 'find the worst thing that could possibly happen and do it' school of writing really exciting scripts. I probably learned a lot about story from it but it was before my 'What is awesome about...' lists so who knows what, exactly. Hmm... I should take it in to work as I have pretty much exhausted the iPlayer this week ...
And: TEEVEE SHOOOOW! Can you say which one?

SHADA IS AMAZING. Omg Gallifreyan morse code. Omg insanity that happens. SO AWESOME.
Man, I have not been into what's been available on iPlayer lately :/

THANKS for the post the other day, glad you're feeling better (I'm sorry you weren't!). I do agree we should hang out, and I love the idea of the milk tea place.
When you ever feel like leaving the house, yoou can come see my (messy) new place, too!! I'm still trying to decide paint colour groups, vaguely. >D
YAY!
