The Academy Awards!

Last night was the Academy Awards... no not what you're thinking. That's what the Academy of Visual and Performing Arts calls its awards ceremony. Last year's award ceremony pretty much sucked, so my art clas and I made our own kooky version, complete with our own 'red' carpet (a long strip of butcher paper with the words red written down the sides and sprinkled with lovely red glitter!)

The ceremony the year before was a lot of fun too, it's usually this huge dress-up occasion where everyone goes all out to make it memorable, fun and interesting.

This year, I was plotting a surprise with Ashley and Mandy >=D I can do a perfect imitation of my art teacher Ms. Hatanaka. Her signiture body part is her looong straight black Amy Tan hair style that goes up to her knees. So, I got some cardboard black paper and made it into a makeshift wig >=D It looked like Darth Vadar's helmet!!! Ashley and I couldn't stop laughing while I was working on it in Design class (I had to patch it up with duct tape later... duct tape... wonderful substance)

I got all dressed up in my lovely blue prom dress (it's quite simple but elegant) and my matching shawl. I was ready to go amaze the Academy Awards with my wig... and then realized everyone else was dressed simplier than I was -_-;;;; Which royally sucked...

Anyway, the food was good and then we all went into the area to watch the awards. Oh gosh, it was hilarious!! You guys had to be there!! When it started, there was this huge musical number with Gabe, Emily, Johney and Aaron Burns, where they were pretending to be a band singing about the Academy! The best line is "Ms. Hatanaka is on crack!" XD Mandy and I had to present two awards and one was later in the night. Before we announced it though, I got an award for Best Illustration ;_; I was so happy!! I wasn't expecting it at all!!

Now it was our turn. Mandy went on stage and was about to present the award, and then I ran in wearing the wig and screaming with Ms. H's scream, "AH-AH-AH-AH-AH!" (it's a lot like the Usagi's scream in the dub version XD) EVERYONE cracked up when they saw me with the wig!!

Me: Mandee! Mandee!! Did you find the certificate? I can't find the certificate!
Mandy: It's right here!! *holds it up*
Me: OHHHH!!! OoO;;
Mandy: *whimpers* Don't fail me!
Me: *looks at the audience* Oooohhh! Are you on?? *makes a motion as if I'm smoking crack*

Oh gosh Ms. H's face must've been hilarious!! Ohhh I wish I saw her!!

"AART! Film!! Theatre!!!" ~Gabe's British Band

"Let me paint your portrait... let's hope its nude!" Audry singing about art XD

"It's late at night... we're stuck here.. at the AVPA" Audry singing about the AVPA in general XD

"And when we finished... we realized that we were really crappy song writers." Audry after finishing her wonderful song XD

"ROUST!! ROUST!! ROOUUST!!! *marches Emily, Johnney and Aaron away* Don't even THINK about NOT ROUSTING!!" ~Gabe (they did the Diary of Anne Frank for one of the plays this year)

"AAAHH!!! Don't kill me, I'm British!!" ~Emily during their short skit on Oliver which was the spring musical

"Don't fail me!!" ~Mandy during our tidbit of madness

"But I'm a strong woman, and I'll not let the frontier hurt me!" ~Emily, Gabe, Johnney and Aaron XD
