Because of reasearch for a design project, I went down to Petco and checked out the fishes. I watched how they move, how they swim, how the scales bend alone with the body of a fish.
I came home with a brand new betta fishie!!!!
He's soooo pretty, with a dark blue and red body with blue striped red tails and fins!! In Windsor Newton oil paint shades, he's aziliran crimson and cobalt blue! =D I have named him 'Gogi' which means 'meat' in Korean, kind of a play on the Korean word for 'fish' which is 'murlgogi' but translates literally into 'water meat'.
I've set Gogi on my desk on the shelf so I can watch him swim while I do stuff on Fred or work on my projects. I kind of don't like the tank I bought for him though, betta fishes breath air and this tank is hexagon shaped, kind of small with a cover that only has two tiny air holes in it. I may decide to get a slightly bigger one, although bettas can live in small shaped objects like jars. Heck, the bettas at petco were held in individual plastic cups with water and air holes in it! But Gogi likes to move around a lot and the tank I think is really too small for him. So on my next visit to Petco, I'm planning to purchase a bigger one for him to be active in!
Why didn't Jean get a hampster you ask? I did see lots of them at Petco and I did want to get one, but I'd have to take care of it by myself since both Rey and Lynleigh are too busy. I'm a busy person myself, so I don't think I'd be able to give my hampster the attention it needs. It would be nice to have one tho = /
But Gogi can keep me company and I can use him as more field research for my project! Yay for useful pets!
