*sigh*

One thing keeps putting a damper on my relaxing weekend, but hey whatever. Just not going to think about it.

Today I went to the Festival of Books. It was fun to hang out with Mandy and check out all the neat stuff we saw. Lots of new books though, and it was the same new stuff so that kind of sucked, but I did buy a Tagalog phrase book (so I could learn what the hell Rey's family were saying!) and this absolutely gorgeous LOTR illustration book from the original calender by the Hildenbrant brothers. The paintings are done in acrylics and it shows reference photographs of models and rough sketches. The commentary is also hilarious! I'm so glad I bought it! I was debating between that book and the Official Movie Guide for LOTR FoR. I saw the Visual Companion for the Two Towers as well as The Art of Two Towers and The Art of FoR. Wheeeeheee heee! I may not be a HUGE LOTR but I LOVE creativity at its finest! So much stuff went into those movies and illustrations and after drooling over them constantly in the library, I'm glad to get one in my own collection!

Also, I got a pattern for Ren faire costumes from Mandy so I'm going fabric shopping tomorrow and starting on my costume! Whee!!
