Hobbity goodness.

I am on cloud nine right now XD
Anyway, it began with reaching the Best Buy around 9 PM and discovered that there were already a ton of people waiting in line to meet Dominic Monaghan inside the Best Buy in West Hollywood. To keep track of the amount of people, Best Buy was wrapping yellow wrist bands around people's wrists with numbers on them, so Rey and I were 191 and 190 respectively. There was still a long wait ahead of us so I made small talk with the person in front of me. Her name was Mary and it turned out she's an editor of the ROTK DVD of the Appendixes! We talked a lot about ROTK and about how crazy the waiting was and stuff. She was waiting for a friend to arrive and I was just chilling. Rey was reading Azumanga Daioh.
There were various media coverages, like Eyewitness News 7, KROQ radio station, and Lord of the Rings.net, the official webpage, and there was The One Ring.net documentary called 'Ringers.' I had a question about release forms since I wanted to submit some paintings in for them and poof, I got interviewed!!! Quickbeam (Cliff) interviewed me and asked questions about the Internet and communities, then about art and got really excited when I said I drew charicatures of the LOTR characters as anime characters. So I got to sign a release form and I can send in paintings anytime! I showed them the painting I did for Dom and Cliff assured me that Dom would love it =D And it turned out that Cliff and Mary worked for the same boss!
By then, Mary's friend Joon showed up! She decided she didn't want to wait in line and just hung out. She was really giggly and a really fun person, so we had a good time with her. We talked a lot of being Korean (she immigrated to the US when she was one) and about backgrounds and other things as the line sloooowly moved along. I also saw my friends Lauren and Adam from high school! Lauren's declaration of, "Look, Jean's a nerd too!" just made me laugh XD
Joon tended to disappear now and then, it turned out she went up to the glass doors and looked in to stare at Dom or to laugh at the people who were acting fangirly XD There were lots of squealing from the younguns! It was funny, especially since I knew that if I was their age, I'd be doing that too. Mary and I watched the two girls in front of us put together a lego kit of the Knight Bus from Harry Potter, talking about movies, or laughing about how Dom should sign the Knight Bus. Another girl joined us and she had this sign that read "Hobbits are a Girl's Best Friend".
As for cosplay, there was a group of three girls dressed as hobbits and various people wearing cloaks. They were all really cute XD
We also had a bit of drama in line as well. A girl was with her boyfriend and a man came up to her and started trying to make a scene. It turned out that he was her ex-husband and just wanted to start something. He hit the boyfriend, and forced her to leave with him, and a few other things happened that I was unaware of, but the boyfriend stayed to get something signed for his girlfriend, which was sweet. And he's a black belt in Taekwondo! That jerk would've been in trouble if the boyfriend hit back, but since he was better than that, he didn't. Good for you man!
I got tired of just standing in line at one point and went ahead to try to peak through the glass doors like Joon was. I saw Dom's forehead. And that was pretty much it! XD
Finally, we made it at the front of the line and the two girls went first, then Mary and Joon. I could see Dom clearly and he was scribbling autographs as fast as he could. There was talk that his girlfriend was nearby and that she was wearing a green jacket, so we saw her clearly. She was very very pretty! More about her later XD Anyway, Joon was very giggly and Dom giggled along with her and we got pictures of them together! Mary went next and grabbed Cliff to pose for another picture with her and Dom.
And then it was my turn. I took out my painting and said, "Here, this is for you." I wrapped it in sea green tule with a gold ribbon yesterday since I wanted to see his reaction when he saw what it was. Wow. He didn't do or say anything for a full two second. He was shocked. This was the VERY FIRST TIME I've seen someone react that way to MY painting, what can I say, it was mind boggling. And then he looked at me, gave me the sweetest expression and said, "You know I have to hug you now.", got up and hugged me. My brain went numb to everything other than the words repeating, "LIFE IS GOOD". Dom signed my Two Towers extended DVD case and I told him I thought the movies were beautiful! He joked that he liked them too, smiled at me again and sent me on my way. I painted his eyes the wrong color though, damn!
Rey went next and got my Fellowship of the Ring extended sign (since we were allowed only one autograph and one picture, but Dom was doing his best to do both as quickly and as kindly as he could). He was still holding the Azumanga Daioh manga and Dom asked about it!! The mind boggled again and we merrily went on our way out.
Mary and Joon were outside talking and we met up with them. Then Joon went, "Who was he again?" There was silence, and then we all burst out laughing! OMG!!! XD Outside with us was the girl we all thought was Dom's girlfriend, so I bit the bullet and asked her if she was. It turned out she was his publicist o_o She was really really pretty and had these gorgeous earrings! Her name was Jennifer. And she looked at me and said, "That painting you did was amazing! I got goose bumps just looking at it, and it was so nicely and professionally wrapped!" WOW!!!! Just WOW!!! Beyond Cloud nine. Like... probably floating by Neptune by now.
But I got pulled down to earth when I remembered that I forgot to ask him this one question: what martial arts style was he doing in his latest movie, the Purifiers? Jennifer was really nice and took me back inside to ask him!! WE did it under the guise that I was going to go buy the ROTK DVD (which I did), and I got to ask him! Dom answered that it was "Gai kwan do" and I thanked him, thanked Jennifer *major huggles to you!* and left, now back towards Neptune again.
The girls and I exchanged e-mails, took pics together and went on home. I hope to hear from them soon!
And all through this, Rey was amazing. He took me there, held me, brought me drinks, held my bags, and overall was just a wonderful boyfriend. I cannot be happier than this, and it's all because Rey wanted me to be this happy. I am so grateful to him right now, for just sticking by, making jokes so that everyone will laugh, and taking lots of pictures! They will be posted soon. =) Thank you, honey!
I know that he couldn't get a pic of me and Dom hugging (I'm kicking myself since I didn't kiss him on the cheek and Rey gave me permission to do so), but I'm so happy that this night happened and that it was worth waiting that long time for. I had a great time, I met someone I admire, and I made new friends. It was a wonderful night and I'm sure I'll never, ever forget it =)
