Umiiii umi umi UMMIIIIIIII~!
Sep. 5th, 2004 11:31 amYesterday, there was a beach. Then we came and took it over. We built a fort to claim the lands. And we danced around and decorated it with lots of kelp! XD
Rey and I got up around nine yesterday morning and packed, then went over to the twins' place around 10:30 AM. We ran into Kie and Wayne in the hallway to get Kie's books so we just waited with Paff and talked and played games. Then, we went to Vons to get food stuffs but their selection was uninspiring (except for a $2 plastic kite) so we went to Ralphs and got more food! Yay!
Tabitha had gotten to Zuma Beach first so she told us where she parked and we met her around there. We set up the blanket, chilled, and started to oil ourselves with sunscreen, when Tony called saying that he couldn't find us. So I got up and found him, then brought him back. Yay for Tony and Tabs! We sat around and talked and ate yummy food for a bit, and I decided to try to fly my kite. At first it was unsuccessful, but Tony and Tabitha helped me and we got the kite flying through the air!! It was awesome! Best $2 I've ever spent XD A little kid walked by at some point and couldn't stop watching the kite so I let him hold it for a bit XD Since we wanted to get into the water, Tony tied the kite to Tabitha's chair, but to warn people about the string, we tied a plastic bag to the string... but the wind took hold of the plastic bag and lifted into the air with the kite!!! XD So we just took the kite down.
And then we all ran into the water and splashed around. XD Tony and Rey began splashing me at some point, then Lily joined in, so I ran over to splash them, tripped in a hole and tackled Lily! Owch! XD But it was fun and she was laughing. XD Tabitha was lamenting the fact that she didn't bring her boogey board, but she showed me and Tony how to body surf! It was great fun and I got pretty far at certain moments XD The water felt nice and cool, but it was really salty so Paffy and I went back to our blanket and tried to rub the salt out, then drank water to get rid of the salty taste xD. Gary and Holland showed up around this point to and hung out but didn't swim.
We all pitched in to build a gigantic fort too! XD Wayne dug a HUGE hole in the sand and Kie made a sand kitty XD I made a sand bunny and a sand Hazel XD Dood, our fort looked like the Grand Canyon! Tabitha and I were joking about how far our art education went with our fort XD Hahahaa! But it was huge and we even had a tunnel and an water system! 3 kids came over to help us with our fort too and we even had compeition with another group on who could build the more impressive fort. We won though =P
Afterwards, we went into the water some more and found kelp to decorate the fort with. We swam around more splashed some more, Paffy got slapped on the butt by a wave so she was mad at the water enough to give it a few punches XD Tony decided it would be fun to go deeper into the water, then hold hands with me and the twins to see how long we could stay together when the tide got higher. We did manage to hold together but Tony got kicked in the chest and Kie went under completely XD Kie also got knocked over by another wave so I tried to help her up, and then I nearly got knocked over by another wave!! XD
Kie, Paffy, and I decided to do the bust pump dance at some point so Wayne filmed us doing it XD Rather badly on my part might I add XD And then we tried the monkey dance... and I nearly fell because of the sand XD We hung out at the blanket some more, munched on food, talked and watched the sun get lower and lower. Tony and Tabitha helped me fly my kite again and this time I let it go really high into the air! At one point, we walked back down to the water and crushed the competition's castle (they were gone anyway) and talked and laughed some more. There were some sandpippers by the beach and I wanted to go get a closer look so Tony came with me to follow them. They were soooo cuuuteeee! All of us walked back to the blanket where Wayne kept doing a round house kick, so I did a cartwheel, and Tony did back flips XD Then we all did the Zelda dance!!! XD
The kite lost wind by then and fell ontop of the lifeguard tower so Tabitha and I untangled the string and the lifeguard gave me back my kite. We talked for a bit and he asked us which school we went to after he heard we lived in Pasadena. So we told him ACCD and he was surprised because he had applied there and Otis!! Art students are EVERYWHERE! XD
We watched the sunset and then got ready to go. Gary, Holland and Tabitha had to leave, but the rest of us went back to Pasadena, showered, and had dinners at Carrows. We called it a nite and Rey and I went to bed as soon as Tony dropped us off.
It was such a fun trip and I want to go back again soon!!
