Characters: Dr. Mizuno
Anime: Sailor Moon
I'm a terrible mother. In my defense, there's a sense that I was never needed. A weak excuse, but when your child is capable of changing her own diapers as soon as she becomes mobile what do you do? My ex-husband said that Ami was precocious, special, but despite all of her accomplishments, she failed in one. The girl who was to bind two mismatched lovers together drove us further apart by not needing us. It's not Ami's fault she's gifted, but it breaks a parent's heart when they're forced to watch from the sidelines as their child walks alone.

Characters: Usagi
Anime: Sailor Moon
There are days when Usagi wants to tell destiny to fuck off. She kicks Luna out of the room, rips the transformation brooch off of her uniform, and buries her face into her pillow to muffle her screams. She cries about the state of the world, how her destiny is mapped out for her, and how badly she wants Minako and can't have her because if she reached for her, she'd lose Chibiusa. As her moment of inconsolability ends, she rolls onto her back and stares at the ceiling, feeling trapped in her responsibilities, the future, and her own desires.
