Girl Meets (Semi-Real) World
Sep. 8th, 2006 02:06 amWell, my 'vacation' is slowly drawing to a close (although not as slowly as I like). Mandy says that it's not a vacation, it's just the time between graduating from college and my enterance into the 'real world'. I argued that I'm not actually going into the real world, I'm still taking classes and the internship isn't paid... but it's still semi-real. At least, I'm not like Anne who has to worry about insurance and things like that. I'm sloooowly easing my way in, I opened up a commissions post for the RP I'm part of so I can earn a little money mostly to pay for LJ (I'm getting rather sick of the ads and I want more icons). I've done a few paintings already to tempt people into ordering from me and I'm really proud of them. My painting skills have gone up!
Basically, from Monday on it'll be 'work ass off'. I work Tuesday- Thursday, although I may work on Friday as well because I have to leave early on Tuesday and Wednesday to go to class at EAA. I'm planning on taking a class at the studio on Thursday as well so I'll be gone from 10AM-10PM. Woo hoo! I have Monday, Saturday, and Sunday off which will probably be filled with homework, errands and the like.
I'd like to keep sewing though, I've designed quite a few bags that I want to make because they're easy and they're fun! I made a fanny pack/hipster bag for Anne today to take with her when she does field work or goes on walks, I designed it based on one I found on Craftster but made the pouch bigger and a separate pocket for cell phone, wallet, etc. I made a significant dent in the amount of green fabric I have! WOO! Mandy also bought fabric for me to make into a messenger bag for her, something big enough to hold her sketchbook. I got to talk to
iheartspotatoes on AIM today, which was a lot of fun because we basically spent the entire time talking about crafts. :D
It is getting late now, sleep is starting to sound like a good thing. Zzzzzz~
