Whack-fo la dario!
Sep. 24th, 2006 11:41 amOops, I ended up goofing off this weekend. Oh well! I got to see Mandy and Anne lots before Anne left to go back to NorCal. My playstation was actually used to play games considering I mostly use it as a DVD player. There's just not enough time to play video games anymore although I'm at the part where I could beat Kingdom Hearts 1 and I've gotten pretty far on my own in Kingdom Hearts 2. And I've played some Katamari Damacy 2. It's just when I have some free time, I end up doing other things, like doing more drawings, paintings, writing, maybe some sewing or crafting... Or I play Sims. :D
Speaking of sewing, I made some of Timmy's Halloween costume yesterday. I've always wanted to make him a Halloween costume so I was really excited about it! Since he's coming with me to work that day, he asked to be Timmy Turner from 'Fairly Odd Parents'! XD I managed to convice Mom to be Wanda and I'm going to make her a little floaty crown to wear when she comes. I made Timmy's pink shirt and I want to screen print 'Got Fairies?' on the back of it, the only thing left is to make his hat. I made some of it yesterday but I think I might scrap what I made and try to remake it since Timmy couldn't get it to stay on his head. It's pretty easy, I'm just covering a baseball cap that I had with pink fabric and extending the brim a bit so it's more pointed like the pictures.
Speaking of costumes, sounds like Ani-Magic prep is going on on my f-list. At this point, I'm not even sure if I'm going to go to any cons in the next year. I have a set amount of money for the next six months for my living expenses and in that time, I have to find a job. If I don't, I have to move back in with my parents and I have to pay rent to them. Pretty much, I'm thinking no cons or new costumes, and it's probably about time to let go of cosplay anyway. Hell, I didn't even go to AX this year (although I reeeaaally wanted to go to see CLAMP T_T) and while I did bring a costume to Comic Con, I didn't wear it. The Toph costume I'm making for Halloween is all out of scrap fabric and Timmy's costume was out of money Mom gave me. Eh, I'm not too broken up about it, cosplay absorbed a lot of money and now I can use that money to buy manga or DVDs or go out with friends. I have so much scrap fabric left over from the costumes that I can turn into things I could probably wear on a daily basis or wear out. I've been making a lot of bags lately, some really cute ones~ Mira asked if I was opening a shop for bags and I got to thinking that might be a good idea. If I don't get a job in the next six months, one of the things I can do is accept freelance work and in-between them, make bags and stuff to sell online. I'd really hate to move back home, there's NO GOOD CRAFT STORES around here. XO We used to have this really awesome Jo-Ann's and now it's gooonneeeee!
I should probably be a good girl and work on stuff... mrrw. I accepted an extra assignment to look at different CGI studios online and e-mail the supervisors of good ones. Woooo~
