La la la GIRLY THINGS~
Sep. 6th, 2009 02:54 pmI went to the mall today to go to the fabric store (yeah, fabric store at the mall, wot?) and I ended up doing a bit of girly make up shopping. Kie, Paff, where are youuu? T_T My make up and hair stuff has been really disorganized lately so I've been trying to track all of my stuff down and putting them in one place. I usually keep a few hair ties, clips, and lip stuff in each purse so everything's a bit scattered. It also doesn't help that one of Atom's favorite toys are hair ties!
Anyway, I've been watching this cute girl's make up and hair tutorials and I like her because she explains things clearly (especially in her later vids), it's easy to see what she does, and she's pretty entertaining to watch. XD Bonus is that she's fairly lazy herself (and admits to it) so what she does with her hair and make up doesn't take a long time to do either. I haven't had a chance to really try any of her tutorials myself and it'd require a lot more stuff that I don't have, but I've done little things here and there, like a few steps from the 5 minute face vid. Worked very nicely too, there was a definitely a difference. :D
I finally got a decent make up box today too, yay! I found it in Sanrio and bought it with a 20% discount since it was a display item. Very very cute, it's a bit like Kie's lavender kaboodle box with a big space and a removable tray (no mirror though), and it has Kuromi on it! Kuromi's fast replacing Chococat as my favorite Sanrio character, sorry Chococat, but Kuromi's line lately has awesome things like antique keys and chandeliers! She's a bit gothy, Victorian, punky, rock and roll girl, I can't help but love that. My favorite purse right now also has Kuromi on it (thanks Jenntrude)!
I've also been trying out a bit of perfume here and there. I don't like perfume that much normally and I wear lotion every day since my skin tends to look dry fairly easily, but someone gave me a sample of Aquolina Pink Sugar Eau de Toilette and it's quite nice. It's a light, warm, vanilla/caramel scent that's not overpowering, but I have to make sure to wear it on a day I don't wear lotion since the scents tend to mix. I've also been curious about stuff from Black Phoenix Alchemy Lab for a long time, partly because if you buy one of the scents based on Neil Gaiman's books, a donation would be scent to the Comic Book Legal Defense Fund, and also because their stuff is very natural. My only problem is that it's hard to obtain samples and I have a sensitive nose so I can't really have anything too heavy or else I'll get headaches. Some of the scents sound heavenly though, especially the ones based on 'Stardust'.
So is anyone else in love with the jewelry from Forever 21 lately?? It's ridiculously gaudy and costumey and I LOVE IT. I haven't bought any pieces but I love to just look at them because they make me laugh. It's a bit like old costume jewelry and it feels like it's made out of stuff found in thrift stores or in a grandmother's old jewelry box. Very old timey, vintagey sort of feel for very, very cheap.
Wow, this probably has been the girliest post I've ever done. I feel like I need to end it with a girly vid!
On another note, Mom wants to get a really, really good, long lasting sewing machine. Any recommendations??
