One of my first model drawing experiences included a young and worried looking male model whose winkie kept going...to the left...upright!...to the right!...down!...up!
And I was so shy, I kept leaving his groin as this blank box, because I was afraid to draw it. Finally, I did, and then when I glanced again, everything was pointing another direction! I thought, "Good grief...was I so scared to look at him I drew it the wrong way?" So, I erased the vine charcoal with my finger and drew it pointing the way it was pointing.
I went back to working on, like, his elbow or something, then glanced back down. Lo and behold, it was pointing ANOTHER way!
Finally, I realized what was happening.
About that moment, my boyfriend (who was auditing the class) looked at my housemate (male, who was taking the class with me), and slowing raised his pointer finger toward the sky...paused...tipped it to the right...paused...drooped it from the knuckle...paused...stiffened it again, then drooped it to the left...
My housemate, who was even shyer than I was, chocked and ran from the room to have a laughing fit outside the building. Ah memories.
