I don't know anything about sewing machines but I'm curious to find out where your/your mom's research leads ... I need to replace the one I've got* and am too distracted to do any research myself. At least not until after Halloween. (hooray costume that only needs hand-stitching!)
*unless I can find a replacement lever handle for the 1970s foot-pedal-less Japanese one I inherited from my mom ... no, I didn't think so either.
