I had a WONDERFUL time at Comic Con! I managed to do everything I wanted to do and then some!

I will keep this entry spoiler-free about the ROTK EE so feel free to read! =D

Thursday
The drive to San Diego was long. Very long. And very dull. Traffic, a lot of nothing, and pretty ocean. We did stop by Lynleigh's house momentarily so she could pick up a few things and I got to see her house and her chubby doggie! XD We did randomly see Matt on the freeway so we were waving and making faces when our cars passed each other! XD

Lynleigh and I arrived late to the Kings Inn where we were staying at, hurridly rushed our stuff into our room and then drove to the Convention Center, getting there around 6:30PM. Since we had pre-registered, we didn't have to wait and we hurried over to the Ringers Panel where Peter S. Beagle (author and screewriter for 'The Last Unicorn' and for the animated 'Lord of the Rings) and the rest of the Ringers crew were talking.

Mr Beagle is definately VERY charming and very intelligent! He said a great many things about the working on the animated LOTR movie, but was definately jipped at the end and had to threaten to sue to get paid. He also told us that if it wasn't for reading LOTR, he would've never gotten into writing, much like Terry Prachett and other modern sci-fi/fantasy writers. We were shown many clips of the Ringers documentary (OH SO EXCITED!!) and the funniest moment of the panel definately was when a man named Morgan Freeman, who submitted music for the documentary, said that the script for the animated LOTR was better than Peter Jackson's script. At that moment, Sala Baker (stunt guy for many orcs AND Sauron for PJ's movies) stood up and went, "WHAT YOU SAY ABOUT PETER JACKSON? C'mere! What do you weigh, like 80 pounds?!" Sala is a PRETTY BIG guy! REALLY BIG! I couldn't stop laughing! XD

After the panel, I managed to go over to Mr. Beagle and present him with the painting I did of the unicorn and Lady Amalthea. He thanked and asked for my name (which I gave him), and I asked him to sign my book! Great happiness ensured *O* I got to finally meet AJ and Judy from ORC! There was to be a party at a bar north of CC, but I couldn't go since I'm still a year short. Then I was told I should've gone because it was too hot inside and everyone just sat around outside talking, including Mr. Beagle and Sala Baker! Booo, I could've hung out with them! Lyn and I returned to the King's Inn and she watched TV while I decided to paint.

Friday
We woke up around 10:30 and Lyn got dressed in her adorable blue gingham Lolita and we got to the convention center around 11. Unfortunately THERE WAS NO PARKING. NONE AT ALL. So we had to park at Petco Park and by then, we had missed Crispin's panel that I wanted to go to. I did apoligize to him for missing it, but he hugged me, told me I was fired XD, and gave me lots of hugs. Major THANKIES to Matt for waiting up for Lyn and me to get there! Wub wub! Introduce me to Neil Gaiman! XD

Lyn and I walked around for a bit and went into the Exhibit hall where we located the Ringers' Booth! I said hi to everyone and meandered along. We went to the New Line Booth where we ran into Wendy who was dressed as O-Ren Ishi from Kill Bill! So we walked together and decided to get some lunch! Wendy suggested we go to Seaport Village so we did and WOW, it's SO BEAUTIFUL over there! There are lots of cute stores and places to eat and it's right by the ocean! We had a good time chatting and laughed a lot, then left to go back to the Convention Center. We missed the Disney panel though, but we were just in time for Neil Gaiman's panel about MirrorMask, a movie that he's working on. We saw a few clips (IT LOOKS AWESOME) and I got in line to ask him a question about color schemes. Unfortunately, the line was cut off so I couldn't ask him but I got a really cool pin so it was all good!

Then, we went to the New Line panel!! Sana-chan was there as well so we all said HI to each other and went in. The ROOM WAS PACKED BEYOND BELIEF! We founds some good seats though and no one was sitting in front of us but the stage was still quite a distance away. I was excited to go to this panel since Billy Boyd (Pippen) and David Wenham (Faramir) were supposed to be there! First, we had to sit through the new Blade movie and saw Jessica Biel, then through Harold and Kumar Go to White Castle (it was short, sweet and funny! I got some good pictures! John Cho, who plays Harold, joked that "Everyone's here to see us instead of LOTR, right? RIGHT!"), and then through a preview of Cellcular.

Finally, IT WAS RINGS TIME! Billy and David came out looking fabulous as usual and we were shown some clips specially picked by Peter Jackson himself who wanted to be at SDCC badly enough to film clips of himself explaining about what we were about to see. Oh. My. Gosh. I cannot wait til December. IT IS BEYOND AWESOME! I WANTS IT! Anyway, Q&A occured and I was told to get in line... only to be sent back to my seat AGAIN (long story) but I was the first one to know that there was to be a signing by Billy and David on Saturday and to go find out what time early that morning. Here are some of the funniest moments:

Billy: (on a question about the best prank) Well, Dom and I recieved these scripts for a scene with Treebeard and we all fall through the branches and land naked. Pippen turns to Merry and says, "Do you feel cold?" And Merry goes "Yes. Hold me!" And for the longest time, we were wondering if this was real or not because it was all official looking and we had been having more humor in our scenes together!

David: (talking about Miranda Otto) Miranda Otto and I are good friends and have been for many years. One of the most interesting moments of our career together was when we were pretending to make love in a bathtub, but we had to keep stopping because we couldn't stop laughing!

Billy: Yeah, during those interview sessions for Extended Editions, Michael Pellorin (producer of DVD for New Line) keeps grilling you about everything and just won't stop! So when you run out of things, you just start making stuff up!

David: Well, I don't have the best long term memory, I have excellent short term memory, so during my commentary on ROTK, you hear a lot of long pauses.

Michael Pellorin: We felt really bad for Orlando Bloom when it was time to do his commentary because all we could book to do the recording is this really small room with an overhead air conditioner that was broken. AND it was set on COLD! We offered to reschedule for him to do it some other time but he said he'd go ahead with it and, I tell you, he was a real trooper but at moments, he would ask, *mimics British accent* "Could I have another blanket?"

Annnnnd we were shown a special clip that will NOT be in the DVDs AT ALL and we were the ONLY people who got to see it XD Michael Pellorin was talking about how the cast continually makes fun of each other and the clip was about Dominic Monaghan was speculating on WHY Viggo Mortensen didn't show up to the Academy Awards:

Dom: So I called Viggo about going to the awards ceremony and left a message on his machine and said "Hey V, going to the awards, right? Want to get together a little early and have a few drinks at my place and go together? Call me back!" And he didn't, so I called again later and this time he picked up, and I asked him if he was going to the awards and he said no.
Viggo: I don't talk about my private life.
Dom: Apparently, he was throwing this huge party at his place to watch the awards and swarms of people were coming. He had these great jello molds in the shape of the trophy and made ones out of jello and people were hitting him with it yelling, "YOU ARE THE KING! YOU ARE THE KING!"
Viggo: *laughing REALLY REALLY hard* Jello molds!!!

OMG, Lyn, Wendy, and I were laughing as we got out of the panel!! The rest of the day, one of us would randomly go, "YOU ARE THE KING" and we'd all be laughing! We went out to dinner at Horton Plaza and then said goodbye to Wendy and went to rehearse with Rebecca, Wayne, Hai, Kie and Paffy. Averi and Lionel watched us and by the end, Averi pretty much had the routine down XD Some drunk guy passed out by where we were practicing and we got a few stares, but it was all good. Kie and Paff dropped us off at Petco Park and we all met up at our room at the Kings Inn. The twins and their mom worked on costumes while Lynleigh and I relaxed and watched TV. Lyn and I went to bed, but we couldn't really fall asleep because we started giggling and began yelling out, "YOU ARE THE KING!" and "JELLO MOLD!"

To be continued!
