Lack of youth voters, issues that the Supreme Court will face, and war.

I am sorely disappointed at the members of my generation who did not go and vote. To those who say that it doesn't matter YES IT DOES. It does matter that the our generation votes and make our numbers heard. It is our responsibility and our right to vote for the candidate of our choice and this year was supposed to be the one where youth voters were going to take hold. It wasn't and I'm disappointed in all of you who didn't excercise your right. You live in the U.S. and living here holds you to your rights and responsibilities to select a leader and to help decisions be made because this is YOUR FUTURE. All of you who sat on your butt and refused to vote, well congrats.

Welcome to a future where minorities will be made to suffer. Where foreigners will have to time off from their job and go back to their home country to get their green card renewed since they can't do it here. Welcome to the future women will no longer have the rights to control their own body and protect themselves from unwanted pregnancies. Welcome to the future where homosexual couples will be forever prejudiced and judged against because they love someone else who is the same gender. And also, welcome to the future of war. Parents will be crying for their children who won't be coming back. Spouses will be crying for their loved ones whose blood will stain the battle field. Children will be crying for their parents who they will never see again. This will happen in all four corners of the globe, not just here and it will happen until enough people have died for the thought of "WHAT HAVE WE DONE?" have finally appeared in the head of all leaders.

Right now... I pray for my family in Korea. North and South. I have family there, members who I have never met yet still know in my heart that people who share my blood live and suffer. They apparently, haven't seen nothing yet. And with a heavy heart, I'm saying goodbye to all hope of someday meeting them.

And all you liberals writing "I'M MOVING TO CANADA" don't be immature and say such rash things when you don't mean them. And to all you conservatives telling them to shut up, keep in mind that if Kerry won the election, plenty of conservatives will be saying the exact same thing.

I am terrified of what the future holds, but I have no choice but to keep going forward. I pray that I will still be able to let my dreams come true for myself and for my country. I pray for peace and not war, I pray that God will guide our president and save lives instead of destroying them. I pray that prejudice and hate will be gone, and that everyone will have the God given rights of love, peace, and the pursuit of happiness without their own brothers and sisters standing in their way.

I agree. You're totally right about that. I was INCREDIBLY disappointed in the youth turnout.. especially because the youth seemed to have a slight leaning towards Kerry. It could've made a big difference.

I don't know why they let adults run the nation when in the next 4 years, we are going to be the generation most affected. I know I will.. with jobs and taxes to worry about.

So. P. Diddy should be making his rounds now killing everyone who didn't vote eh? :)

I'm surprised at the low youth voter turnout. I've seen more effort to turn out the youth vote than I ever did in my entire life. Almost every single person that I knew voted. Yeah, I was kind of shocked.

I think it's more of the low youth voter turnout in the other states and not in California so much. It was pretty much guaranteed that Kerry was going to get California, and he did; he lost because he didn't appeal too much to the more rural, middle-country states.

Now we have a strong possibility of a draft to look forward to on top of many other things. Second terms never go smoothly.
