Highlight of the E3 experience
May. 20th, 2005 06:27 pmNintendo booth. Definately the Nintendo booth. Why? Because of the Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess section, THAT'S WHY! It was even worth standing in line for 2+ hours just to go into that friggen awesome booth!! The entire area was sectioned off from the rest of the con and then divided into two rooms and mini hallway type area.
Room One
Had tvs and console for the game demo but this wasn't what made this room friggen awesome. What made it friggen awesome was that the entire area was decorated like a forest!!! It was very close to being RIDE QUALITY! It was also filled with sound effects and lighting effects, plus a very very cool projection of a lake with a wooden bridge and fish that you have to 'run across' and you watch the wooden bridge 'break'. If you were standing in an area where there was 'water,' there would be 'ripples'!! There were fish swimming around too but you couldn't step on them. If you tried, they escaped!
Mini Hallway
After you leave the first room, you step into a hallway, but the hallway is in a shape that makes you turn a corner. As you turn a corner, a Stalfos jumps out at you! But don't worry, it's behind bars! Actually, it's a huge puppet with someone behind it moving it around. It's completely dark in there with a few green lights so I couldn't get a good picture but oh well. It startled me when I turned the corner and I went, "OH GAWD!" when it jumped at me! BUT IT WAS SOOO AWESOME!
Room Two
This room was DEFINATELY my most favorite room, I just planted myself in this room and refused to leave. For one thing, this room was also decorated but it was like the interior of a castle. The room itself was divided into two parts by a HUGE separation thingie but it didn't reach to one end of the wall so you could walk through. There were projects of zombies everywhere that would move occasionally, a HUGE screen that played different trailers and clips from the game, and of course there were the game consoles. People in line could watch the screen while waiting their turn to try the game but after the trailers and clips were over, a WERELINK would come out and be on top of the separation!!! It was actually a HUGE puppet that would howl and growl and stuff!!! IT WAS SO COOL! Not only did the puppet howl and growl, it would actually TOUCH unsuspecting people who were closest to it!! One guy was so consumed with staring at the game screen as he waited his turn, he didn't actually realize that the puppet was growling at him and was getting closer and closer to him until the puppet touched the top of his head!!! Another guy also didn't notice until the Werelink growled really really loudly right next to his face, so he was promptly startled and went, "OH CRAP!!" I LOLed.
Werelink is also very fuzzy, Kie and I got to pet him after we saw the puppet touch the top of that guy's head~ The Werelink puppet also loved the booth girls, he would cuddle to a booth girl's hand and they touched noses! It was so cute!! The puppet also ran out of nowhere once and howled as a booth girl walked by and completely startled her!! It was so funny!
There was also a Link walking around but that's another story <3. I totally <3s Link now~ *O* Mmmmm, Link....
E3 stopped being about games for me after awhile and it became about the display and how much cool free stuff I could accumulate. But I did play a lot of games and I had a great time!! Now to go soak my feet for the next hour or two and dream of elves in tights~
