I Found a Kitten o_o;
Oct. 19th, 2008 12:26 amI was out with my family in Cerritos for my brother and my dad's birthday, when my aunt was driving us (meaning the Brother Two, two cousins, and myself) back to her place which is inside of a gated community. All of a sudden, she stopped the car and started to panic about something. I looked up and noticed that a small gray and white kitten had darted in front of the car and onto a concrete island with two trees and some grass. My aunt kept panicking about the kitten so I hopped out of the car and chased after it, eventually cornering it against a stone wall and caught it with my jacket.
By the time I had it wrapped up in my jacket, my cousins and my brother had gotten out of the car and walked the rest of the way. We ended up taking it with us because my cousins have a dog that doesn't like other animals. Tomorrow... well... I guess I'm taking it over to the vet Anne recommended to me and checking if it's been microchipped. It seems to be a stray to me though, probably feral since it doesn't seem to like people and kept hissing at all of us if we tried to get close to it. But it didn't struggle once I picked it up and it even purred when my brother and I were holding it, all wrapped up in a towel. My family seems to want to keep it... well except for my mom. Dad seems more amused than anything and he likes the fact that cats don't need as much care as a dog. The Brother Two is pretty much in love with it and he's been calling it Simba and then Aslan. XD As for me... I really want it... but I'm the allergic one. I know that quite a few people with allergies still keep cats... maybe I could be one of them. At the very least, I'll talk to that vet tomorrow and see what the next step is. If I can't keep it... is anyone interested in it?
Also, any kitten tips are reeeaaally helpful. I've never had a cat before although most of my friends have cats. I know enough not to give them cow's milk (which my family kept wanting to do and I had to keep stopping them) and so far, the kitten's been supplied with some water and canned salmon, but any other tips would be great!
( You guys probably want to see some pictures, right? )
