Did you observe any changes in Dumpling's behavior? It only takes two weeks to give birth to babies? That's quite fast!

Dumpling has gotten bigger, her nipples are swollen, and lately she has taken to digging nests. Hamsters apparently have the one of the shortest gestation periods ever, about 14 days after mating, and then they give birth on the 15-17th days. After that, the babies are born and they grow quickly in four weeks, then you have to seperate them!

Wow! I remember when I was at the Randall Junior Museum when I was a kid, and Mom took me in to see the animals. Then there was a huge crowd hanging around one of the hamster's window. I was like, "what's going on over there?" As I walked over, I noticed that a hamster was giving birth. It was so amazing; he came out all tiny and pink -- so cute. :)

I asked Chris if we could take one but he said he doesn't want a hamster with Hamlet's blood in it. The last time we were over at your place, Hamlet was crazily trying to get out of his cage! Chris thinks Hamlet's kids will be naughty! XD

Just make sure you put the hamster in an aquarium instead. I didn't feel like buying a new tank so I reused the Critter Trails cage that my previous hamster used to be in. Hamlet is a very friendly hamster though!

Delphi's blood is also in Hamlet though and Delphi was such a good little ham <3

Besides, I bet they'll be SO CUTE that he won't be able to resist! ;D
