*Paff was okay! No Paffs were harmed in the making of this comic! It just took the hospital 3 hours to tell her that she was okay and that I could take her home!

I've never heard of anyone having anaphylaxis over chicken dumplings. Was the chicken not cooked properly, or is it the wrappers or the sauce that she was allergic to?

We're thinking that the food might have been contaminated, as in they used the same cookware that was used to cook food with nuts and not cleaned out all the way. Paff's allergic to nuts but the ravioli shouldn't have any nuts in it =X

Hmm... maybe it's the cooking oil. A lot of cooking oils are derived from either nuts, seeds, grains, and beans. Or, it could be an issue that the chefs used the same oil used to cook someone else's meal. Bottom line, it's either the oil itself, or the fact that it was used previously.

I think it was contamination, because I've had that dish before. My nut allergy is really really sensitive. The waiters said that the cookware possibly still had some nut residue. At least they were very nice about it. ^.^;;

Man, you'd think restaurants would be careful when it comes to something as simple as cleaning their cookware. *shakes head* I mean, anaphylaxis is no joking matter. People can get seriously sick, or worse. Well, you're lucky you made it, and I'm glad that you're okay.

Thanks! ^_^ It actually wasn't that bad for me. It was such an obvious and immediate allergic response, but it seemed to stabilize after just taking antihistamine pills. I was able to sleep the rest of it off. Luckily, I never actually got to the anaphylaxis stage. It must have been a really small concentration of whatever it was. =x Still, that caught me totally off-guard.
