Today was a relaxing day because everyone was bushed from Seattle yesterday. Seattle was absolutely brilliant! My aunts, Alex, and I went to Pick's Market, a place where people throw fish at each other if you buy one, and ran into my Uncle Bobby with his wife! Good place with food and souveniers. I also went up to the Space Needle, which was also loads of fun! We were SO HIGH UP! The exterior elevator was the best part though, I would've just ridden on it for the entire day! We didn't get to see the Science Fiction Museum though, not enough time T_T But oh well, next time! Then, we spent the rest of the night watching home movies my Uncle Mike made. Uncle Mike makes incredible home movies, he uses After Effects and animates and edits the movie so they look REALLY PROFESSIONAL! If you guys want to see a few of the movies: http://www.pure-imagination.com/movies/
Since everyone was pretty tired, Aunt M just dropped me off at Powell's City of Books. IT'S THE FREAKING BIGGEST BOOKSTORE I'VE EVER SEEN. It's a GIGANTIC office building converted into THREE STORIES OF ABSOLUTE BLISS-err, books. I went nuts in there and found so many rare books that I was immediately in heaven! I ended up buying the Sandman volume with a short story for each sibling, 'Die for Love' by Elizabeth Peters, a book on Korean mythology, and a Japense English Dictionary. ALL ON SALE! 'Die for Love' and the Korean mythology book were also under $4 because they were used =D And they're both out of print! SCORE! The Sandman volume was an impulse buy but I've never seen it before in other bookstores. I also found two FBOFW volumes that are also hard to find but I resisted in buying them. I NEARLY DID. Excercising my will power was so difficult, especially in that store!! I could happily burrow myself a little hovel in they Sci-fi/Fantasy section and live on books, mochas, and bad bookstore sandwiches for the rest of my life!! I definately want to go again before I have to leave.
Downtown Portland is pretty awesome in general, I have a walking map of the area and I know how to get there from my aunt's place so one of these days, I'm just going to spend the day there and wander around!! It's so much cleaner than Downtown L.A. and so much smaller. Downtown Portland is quite... quaint, in fact. Very cute. Lots of stores I want to visit and do some serious shopping! I may drag one of my aunts with me just for the experience although she may claim that she won't be able to keep up XD
Hilarious Aunt Quote of the Day:
Aunt S: You know Jean just visited us because she thinks that we're still cool.
Tomorrow, I'm going to be watching 'King Kong' in the morning, then meeting up with Lacey to watch 'Brokeback Mountain' and then heading over to 'The Embers'! The Embers is a famous night club in Downtown Portland that have beautiful transvestite dancers XD It's so famous that Aunt M knew about it and encouraged me to go!!! XD Aunt S and Aunt M are having fun dressing me up for tomorrow because I didn't really bring anything to wear aside from really comfortable, casual clothes! XD I'll try to take pics on my cellphone camera but no guarentees how good it'll come out! I'm excited!!! *squiggles*
