Really, what more could an LJ entry need?
I've made a bunch of things that I couldn't post until the respective items were delievered to various people! ;D Didn't want to ruin the surprise!

This is a Davey Havok themed bag that I made for
orangewinters! This was the first one I made without using any sort of tutorial, I just sketched out the design I wanted, plotted out how I was going to do it, and winged it. The front portion has a pocket and a fun screen print of Davey!

The sparkly fabric came from scraps Paff and Kie had. It was a bit flimsy so they were reinforced by green gaberdine fabric and the entire bag was interfaced.

The lining came out a big bigger than anticipated but it still fits in pretty well and the bag keeps it shape. The handles were bought from JoAnn's since I've decided that I hate making handles. XD

This is a cute shirt that I made for myself then realized it looked absolutely terrible on someone with my body shape.

The lovely Kat asked if I could put a skull on it, which I agreed to and painted it on completely freehand. Then, I sewed on some glass beads I had for teeth!

This is an 'Alice Style' hoodie shirt that was made from one of my own hoodies. I didn't wear it a whole lot so I decided to chop off the sleeves, line the hood, and put in some cute eyelit lace. :D

It's not completely done yet, I plan on copying on this illustration: http://www.ibiblio.org/wm/paint/auth/tenniel/alice-cheshire.png on the front so that Alice is on the bottom right and Cheshire Cat is on the left shoulder.

I just put a cute heart charm on the zipper, need to do that for all of my jacket zippers now!

It's fun to have two birthdays of friends who are both very musical! I found this really cute sheet music fabric at JoAnn's, bought a yard, and had more than enough to make two cute bags! I also used stabilizer instead of interfacing, much more durable and easier to stick on since it was sticky on one side. No need for ironing!

Back side of the bags, both of them have zippered pockets for cell phones! I like my cell phone to be within reach and easy to grab, and sometimes it's just too much of a pain to open the bag and hunt around for the phone. XD

The inside of this bag. It was interesting to make this bag, I didn't use a tutorial and came up with the idea of the lining and the outside to be sewn together and then the raw edges to be covered with bias tape. Since the entire thing was reinforced with the stabilizer, it made it REALLY STRONG and I've broken a few needles for this bag. XD It was worth it though since it came out looking super cute!

This bag was the fastest bag I've ever made, which goes to show me that I'm getting better at making bags!! It was going to be rectangular like the other bag but I thought that giving it a different shape would be fun and it made it a more unique design. It's fun to take the same fabrics and try to design two different bags!
I'm more determined to make BENTO! Seeing Maryssa yesterday was great because I found the bento community on her LJ profile and the two of us squeeeeeeed over the bentos! I'm looking to get a bento box of my own sometime, I want one that's two tiered, microwave safe, and SUPER CUTE! Sadly, I'm broke so I may just tell my mom that that's what I want for Christmas and be patient until then. I kind of do have a sort of 'American' bento box but it's not the same as a Totoro one. :( Sadly, the Totoro ones aren't microwave-safe! SADNESS!
I've been visiting Cooking Cute! (www.cookingcute.com) for ideas and recipes, as well as links that are bento related! I REALLY WANT THOSE HARD BOILED EGG MOLDERS! I don't eat a whole lot of hard boiled eggs but I will now that I know they can be moldable into super cute shapes! I really want the bunny mold!! I don't need the onigiri mold though, I've made 'Korean-style' onigiri with saran wrap and it still molds well and this way it doesn't stick to your hands!
I need to go to Little Tokyo on a shopping spree sometime, for groceries as well as bento possibilities!! Who wants to come with me?
