I'm up too early! Course, I did go to bed early last night. Mrrwwwmrrrwwmrrww. No class today because it's Halloween! *dancedance* I finally managed to shrink some photos that I took for Halloween... there's still more. Lots and lots more. And not only that, I ended up going to PMX! I wasn't expecting to, but I went under unexpected circumstances and ended up working halfway through. But it was lots and lots of fun, I got to hang with cool peeps, see peeps I haven't seen in forever... or try to see them in any case. Because my costume requires that I keep my hair in my face, they kept poking at my contact lenses X_X My eyes were watery the entire time and I could barely see anything... but that's in character. XD

Thanks! Goodness, it took me two hours to do that hair, because I simply have the wrong hairstlye for Katara. Mine is a medium length and layered with bangs. It doesn't look nearly so great in person, as it's crunchy with hairspray to keep everything in place. XD The braid is an extension.

Still even with an extension, the braid to me is the easiest part, the difficult part is those hair wispy things, and attaching it and the braid to the knot thingy at the nape of the neck. Even if it was shelacked with hairspray, I'm still impressed. If it had been me, I would have gone with a wig the whole way for ease.

The braid was actually the hardest part for me. I had so much trouble attaching it, iunno how people typically do it. :\ I finally just tied it to my ponytail and then wrapped my own hair around the end to make the bun. I couldn't do a hair roll like Katara has because of my layered hair anyway, and I think the general messiness of the knots I did instead kind of obscured the attachments. The hair loopies have little hairbands at the top and bottom, and then the ends are just bobby-pinned to the back of the bun.
Wah, trying to style this hair really made me wish I had long hair again~ D:

I'm like you, I'd be stumped on trying to figure out how to attach the braid as well. From the photo I the knot thing looked like how it should from the way Katara looks in the series.

And I went from waist length hair to ear length hair... I'm never happy with any haircut I get.
