Love/Hate relationships

Gaaah. The biggest love/hate relationship in my life is COSPLAY. I LOVE COSPLAY yet I HATE COSPLAY. It's strangly amusing and irritating at the same time X_X;;

Why I Love Cosplay
1. It's fun to dress up as a character
2. Making the costume is fun and creative
3. Wearing the costume makes you feel 'special'
4. Lots of attentions
5. You KNOW you look good
6. It's fun to goof around with people who are close to your character
7. Cheesy as it sounds, it's fun to actually pretend that you're the real character in the anime

Why I Hate Cosplay
1. Certain people who totally obsess about it bug me
2. You get this mentality that you HAVE to cosplay something that NO ONE HAS EVER COSPLAYED before
3. It takes out a lot of social time, esp when at cons and ppl are holed up in the rooms sewing
4. It's fuggin expensive if you want one of those shimmery costumes >_< I usually just go for cotten but b/c of Lyn's influence, I started looking at satin and spandex X_X;;
5. More reasons for stalkers to follow you, b/c you're the character they obsess over
6. Anime cons have become Cosplay cons where anyone can cosplay anything. I'm waiting for someone to actually cosplay as "THE CHAIR"
7. EVERYONE and their MOM is doing it, it doesn't feel so unique and creative anymore

Cosplay groups are fun. Cosplay is fun. I guess it's the COMPANY that bugs me -_- But it's all part of cosplay, bah I hate compettive cosplay, it's so trivial.

I would add "People who get so protective over a certain character that they get mad if other people cosplay as him/her."
