Many Happy Things!
Oct. 11th, 2007 08:05 pmFirst off, many happy birthdays to my dear sisters-in-life,
chobit001 and
herudil I love you gals! And many happy birthdays to
sokka as well!! :D
So I've been rather quiet for the past week, mainly because I am currently employed as a Production Assistant at a small animation company. The job came really randomly, I had submitted my portfolio to them before but they couldn't hire me because I didn't really know how to use Flash. Then last Friday, I got an e-mail from my contact there asking if I wanted to come in as a PA and after sitting being befuddled for a minute, I accepted. :D The place I work at is a lot fun, the coworkers are really friendly and they're all wonderfully quirky and entertaining. There is one annoying coworker who continually grates on my nerves, but perhaps more on him some other time. I did get to smack him with an apple gummy though, which was rather satisfying. I also sit next to a very charming English lady who is the layout artist on the production I'm working on and I get to listen to her accent aaaaaaaalllll day. :D
So my schedule now is basically waking up at eight am, make bento, eat breakfast, get ready for work, and then out the door by nine forty. I arrive at work like... five minutes later, it's seriously that close. I start work at around ten or earlier and seriously, there is just so much work I can barely leave my desk. But I managed to leave today for a bit with Production Coordinator I to go to FAMIMA! :D I bought Pocky, apple gummies, Calpico, and uhh... Myojo Magazine because Arashi was on the cover. She's a fandom girl, she understood why I squealed. XD Anyway, I work and work until seven and then I go home and collapse. XD
It's not exactly what I want to do but it's a foot into the door and it's something on my resume. I'm understanding the difference of working in a department for an animation company and an actual animation production. They're also teaching me Flash and giving me Flash work to do as well so I understand the program a little bit better. Also, the company is growing furiously and I think I'm coming in at a good time. It doesn't pay much yet but perhaps if I stick around here, something will happen. Anyway, I'm just glad to work. :D
