Art And Fear
Nov. 20th, 2007 07:52 pmI pretty much drew cute things all day. For work. It was pretty awesome. :D And one of my drawings cracked my boss up so that's good, right?
One of my books came in today, 'Art and Fear: Observations on the Perils and Rewards of Artmaking' by David Bayles and Ted Orland. It was recommended to me by my friend Autumn, he loved it so I told him I'd look for it. So far, I read the introduction and immediately, I liked what they were saying to me, "This is a book about making art. Ordinary art. Ordinary art means something like: all art not made by Mozart. After all, art is rarely made by Mozart-like people - essentially (statistically speaking) there aren't any people like that."
I'm going to try to read a little bit of it every day, maybe scribble in my own POVS and try to keep track of it somewhere, whether here or in my art journal, which sorely needs an update.
I haven't forgotten that meme! I'm still working on it! XD
