Now to get some stuff off my chest

Sorry if I offended anyone in anyway possible by writing in my LJ about my own peace-driven views on war. Especially for those who are pro-war. I'm confused on how I feel because I've never felt like this before, it's funny, I read the pro-war entries and esp when anti-war peeps are being bashed, I can't help but feel targeted. It's quite hurtful especially since _I_ haven't said being pro-war is wrong, it's a matter of opinion if you support the war or not. I think it's possible to be pro something and not bash the other. I'm just trying to say here that I'm not putting down anyone or targeting anybody, just please consider my feelings and other anti-war people feelings about bashing us, and that goes for the anti-war people too. Bashing each other isn't going to get this war over anytime soon.

Another thing I feel confused about is the whole 'LJ etiquette'. Unknowingly, I have made my LJ very public by being on friends lists and making my own list. I just use my list to read people's entries, especially those who are my friends and hard to keep in contact with. But there are some people who either don't know me or I don't know them or who I don't want knowing my very personal experiences and opinions that have me on their list. No one says that I have to put them on my list or not so that they can read my friends' entries, yet when I get asked to add them it feels very strange, frustrating even. I don't want to insult anyone by NOT adding them but I don't want them to be able to READ my more private entries because I HAD to add them, because of unspoken etiquette. Does that make sense??

you shouldn't worry about offending anybody with your posts.. this is YOUR journal, so feel free to post anything you want. If they get bent out of shape about it, its their problem ^_^

Hey Jean,
First off before you read anything else, my latest LJ entry was not directed toward you because I had not read this entry until after I posted mine. Just bad timing I guess and I felt I needed to clear the air if you were to think I did that to offend you or something.

I will not post my personal views and feelings about the war on your LJ because its just that.... YOUR Live Journal. I respect you too much to do that. I would like to make one point to clarify something you said. Being Pro-War and Pro-Troops are two completely different views. Someone can be almost totally against the war but be in full support of our troops while they are over in Iraq. Just didn't want you to think these same people that are commenting against Anti-war activists are nessicarly in for this War.

Jean I think everyone is kinda confused at their own feelings towards the war. There is no right and wrong opinion, but there is a right place and right time to express them. Your LJ is the right place - it's your personal diary to express yourself, on public televison on the Academy Awards show isn't the right place (*smacks head at M.Moore*).

I actually don't want the war either but if it's our only option then so be it... I really just want to go out there myself and kick Osama and Saddam's ass that's what I want to do heh. ^^

thanks for the comments!

Matt: Yeah I know it's their problem. but I wish it wasn't a problem ya know? I mean, *I* feel bad when I read someone's entry and it pretty much condemns my views as being idiotic in their opinion. Baaah, confusion and hurt feelings suck >.<;;

Dean: I actually did not read your entry nor see the footage before I wrote mine. I'm at school right now and it's peak hours so I can't call you, but i hope you get this message. I understand your views and I don't hold them against your, nor do I feel that you were targeting me in your entries. As for the footage... I didn't see it nor do I think I want to see it. Hell, I can't even stand horror movies and they ARE FAKE. Since this is REAL, I just won't be able to take it. I just hope that people remember that ALL IRAQIS aren't like that, not all seek the blood and humilations of Americans.

Gina: Yep, my LJ IS the place for me to rant, but it sucks that SO MANY PEOPLE (in my opinion) READ it. I didn't even think it was going to be this way for my LJ and it's starting to get a bit embarassing for me ^^;;;

I'm not offended by your LJ views at all. In fact, I'm glad to hear all points of views about the war. It really teaches me a lot about how everybody else thinks. Our country guarantees us the right to express our own opinions.

You have a right to your own private entries because they are personal to you. This is your LJ and you are in charge of whomever you want or don't want to add. There is nothing wrong if you feel uncomfortable about not adding someone. There's a fine line between public life and private life. People are supposed to respect other people's privacy.
