Now that Doctor Who is over till 2009? 2010? What the hell do I watch?? Hahaha! At least there's the five eps of Torchwood to look forward too. Anyway, Doctor Who fandom is a pretty friendly place, I've been drawing a lot of my reactions to Doctor Who and posting them in
bluejeanius. The Doctor Who LJ community is very nice too and I've been getting a lot of replies! I've never gotten so many replies before so I'm very flattered and full of squee!
In other fandomy news, I've been collaborating with
copperbadge on various things, such as 'Edgar van Scyoc Presents Doctor Who, an Americanized (or as Americanized as Sam can get) version of Doctor Who. Mostly, I had a hand in the casting and I've done some art for it, plus I got to read some snippets in advance. It's excellent, everything Sam writes is pretty freaking awesome and it was a joy to be part of it. :D This is a sequel to 'Second City Torchwood' so please read that first and THEN read the other one. ;D
Doctor Who is a very different fandom for me compared to my previous one (Harry Potter, Gundam Wing, LOTR, etc), mainly because I don't ship! Okay, I didn't ship in LOTR either, but while I heartily ship in Torchwood, I refuse to touch shipping in Doctor Who. RTD summed it perfectly for me when he said that the more that the Lonely Doctor is emphasized, the heart of series is shown: a man traveling through time and space in box. And while the companions can be quite awesome (like Donna and Martha!), the Doctor really is meant to be alone and the one who sacrifices the most because of who he is. A tragic hero! *siiiigh*

Unless Jean/Doctor happened, then forget what I said. ;D
