I'm starting to feel like I'm the only one that enjoyed this episode. o_O; I can't be the only one out there, can I? Sure it made my brain go gooey but it did it in such an entertaining way!

Things I liked:
- I love how RTD weaves threads and arcs throughout the series, it's like how JKR does it in Harry Potter. Little things that end up having a big meaning. Like, the sound of drums, that ties in with "he will knock four times", that ends up being the alternating heart beats of the Time Lords' two hearts. LOVE THAT. The crunchy little details bring me a lot of joy. There were also references to the previous season of Sarah Jane Adventures (locking the TARDIS a second out of sync), and the end of Torchwood. <3

- More details about what it means to regenerate. That versions of the Time Lords when they regenerate actually do DIE and it is a new man. It brings so much more meaning to what Nine says before he regenerates into Ten, "You were fantastic... and so was I!" What originally was a simple plot device to bring in a new actor has so much more meaning now and I do love that Ten is afraid to die and regenerate because he likes who he is now and doesn't want to change. I've always thought of Ten as the most human version of the Doctor and this really reinforces it. <3

- David Tennant is such a marvelous actor. My heart broke so many times over for him during that wonderful scene in the cafe. We're so used to seeing strong, smart, fun Doctor, that I really enjoy seeing all the different sides of him and David plays him so wonderfully. I'm going to be so sad when it's time to let him go. T_T

- Wilfred was wonderful! I love that he's the companion for this arc and I love WHY he's the chosen one for this. I can't help thinking that the Doctor Donna has a part in this as well, that she's the one subtly pinching and tweaking the timelines together. I think Wilfred is going to have to do something amazing and heartbreaking and I can't wait to see what that is.

-I keep thinking that Lady in the White Suit is Romana. <3 I LOVE ROMANA! PLEASE LET IT BE ROMANA.

- The Master Race. That is the ULTIMATE bitch slap to the Doctor. Taking away every bit of human independence that the Doctor loves so much about the human race and just twisting it so that everyone in the world is one person. John Simm was amazing in this, he was mad and brilliant and just fantastically twisted. I also loved that he posed every person he was a bit differently and he acted differently per person too. FANTASTIC.

- How gorgeous was the Ood planet? SO GORGEOUS! <3

- Doctor Donna. I hope something amazing and wonderful and a bit heartbreaking also happens with Doctor Donna. <3

Things I didn't like so much:
- Sekrit Books of Saxon? Very convenient... >.>

- Also, very convenient that a woman's prison apparently gives lipstick to the inmates...?

- Okay that resurrection scene was pretty damn cheeseball. I couldn't get over NAKED FLOATING MASTER for a bit.

- All those EATING sequences. Bit too gross for me and I kept having flashbacks to Gollum in LOTR. John Simm's madness really reminded me of how Andy Serkis played Gollum's descent into madness.

- I kind of wish that the Time Lords just stayed... dead. It's my own little thing, but I like Lonely Doctor. All that wisdom and heaviness, that even though he did run away from Gallifrey, he does miss them.

- Also. The Time Lord Conglomeration looks an awful lot like the Galactic Senate. *eyebrow raise*

Now off of the episode. I'm really not understanding why people are finding it SO WEIRD that Obama was in Who and that all of a sudden, it broke the fantasy of the reality for them? Also, I'm hearing things about RTD's race policies...? Aren't people just reading a bit too much into this? I'd like to hear more.

Personally, I was ridiculously entertained throughout the entire episode. It was wild and crazy and dramatic but oh god, it was so much fun.

I wasn't keen on the pacing for the first half of the episode - it was SO MUCH INFORMATION all packed into twenty minutes and it was a real job to get past the overload of drama. I really didn't notice the Obama bit at all, other than thinking how carefully they didn't show the stand-ins face!

The cafe scene was my absolute favourite, though. David played that to absolute perfection; it was so beautifully done. Overall I liked it, but it's not something I'll go back to over and over, unlike the previous Master arc.

As an aside, have you downloaded the Hamlet that was on BBC2 on Boxing Day? It's another D. Tennant spectacular!

I needed to watch it again just to kind of study the episode and really absorb everything. It really WAS a lot information and TONS of drama but I'm such a sucker for things like that because it makes everything wonderfully complicated. XD

Cafe scene, loved it soooo much.

I haven't yet!! I've been searching for downloads for that and for Catherine Tate's Christmas special!! I WANT IIIIT.

Agreed on all of this. The Sekrit Books and magickal potions were dorky.

I don't really like Obama being in, since we have some random fictional UK PM, so that seems odd to me. I'm just... not sure why he's there. But I don't really mind.

On one hand, I could see the Master covering all of his ground. On the other hand, the title of the books and the 'Potions of Life' made it a bit too hocus-pocus for me. XD

I didn't mind the whole Obama thing since we have Queen Elizabeth the Second and other people in the past... but that's just me. I thought it was used to show that the episode was taking place here and now in 2009 and to show that the best way was to have Obama in it since he is here and now.

LOL I liked it, but then I'm easy-going and given over to enjoying silliness. :) I didn't expect anything different, honestly! So it fulfilled what I thought it would be and then some. There were some head-scratchings, definitely, but I just rolled my eyes. That Secret Book of Saxon or whatever it was totally cracked me up.

I do agree re: the Lonely Doctor. I wish they hadn't done that. Ah well. And the Obama part? All I could think was Oh, he's going to love that! LOL.

I kind of wish that the Time Lords just stayed... dead.

.................................................................WHAT?

They didn't? They're back? Seriously? What?

Okay, so I haven't finished watching it, but still!

I know! BUt I didn't think there was anything HUGE LIKE THAT that I missed! ( Iwas using the VLC patch thing, and it kept cutting out and then I missed the last 5-10 minutes)

I mean, I saw most of it, but.....whaaaaaat?

O_O;;; Oh dear! Maybe you should just use the player, that might work better. The Time Lords were narrating the entire thing!

Oh man, now that I finally saw the end...everything majkes sense. Because when I was watching it on Christmas all I could think was "Why is James Bond wearing Time-Lord-y robes. But I never put two and two together.

I'm not surprised though, like, that RTD brought them back. I mean, the entire fandom's been waiting for it to happen what, since the third episode? IDK, I hope if they're back, they're back and not just being used for like a one episode thing, because that just cheapens the fact that, y'know, they should be dead and gone.
