Blatherings

Just a basic update on the goings on. The new year has barely started and it's already slightly insane! First off was getting involved in the Big Gay Battle in a way I didn't expect. All I saw was that they were taking fanart and I went, "I'll draw something fun for lawls!" Next morning, I saw it splashed all over the site, holy crap! Not only that, other blogs were posting my art and then linking back to my piece. Wow... just... wow. Still very thankful.
And thanks,
butterbuns for the LJ coupon! :D I now have more icoooons! Lots of DC icons, Batman and Sons icons, etc. So happy! <3 I love icons. <3
I don't really make resolutions per se but I did tell myself that I was going to do a few things differently this year. One was that I was going to update my art lj
bluejeanius regularly which I've been managing to do pretty well! I started my own project of trying to design an animated version of Torchwood and my goal is to have, at the very least, designs/turns/expressions/poses of Jack, Gwen, Mary (alien version), and a Weevil for my portfolio. I really want to go more towards boy's action genre in animation so these are needed for my portfolio.
Also, with Gallifrey One looming upon me, I'm trying to do some paintings to sell at the convention as well as prints from previous pieces. I've rediscovered how much I enjoy watercolor painting and how relaxing it is so it's been a lot of fun doing them. :D
The last thing I told myself to do this year was try to be a bit more social. I'm lazy, shy, and slightly awkward around people, especially ones I don't know. Last year, I was so busy with work and my own personal artwork that even though I was invited out a lot, I opted to go home and draw. Even then I didn't feel as productive as I could have been and I have to admit it, I was kind of lonely. So yesterday,
theangrystar invited me last minute to a party and even though I was feeling super lazy and unsure, I got myself dolled up and went over. And I'm glad I did because I had a really good time, made new friends and connections, and just in general, enjoyed myself.
So far 2010 is off to a good start. Next month's going to be super insane, I'm going to Korea from 2/9- 2/19 with my mom to visit my family there. I haven't been to Korea since high school so it'll be nice to go back and see it in the winter (I usually went in the summer) for the first time since preschool. I don't think I'll be sightseeing too much because it's mostly to see my grandmother and help Mom take care of her (she has Parkingson's disease and early onset Alzheimer's), but I'll be going to Taejeon and Seoul, and we're definitely going to go shopping. The trip's happening between Mom's birthday and mine so Mom suggested that we buy each other gifts during the trip since everything in Korea is cheap and cute. XD I'm hoping to lose a bit of weight before going there so I can buy some clothes but my problem has always been that Korean clothes fit everywhere else on me except in the chest area!! It's not like my boobs are huge but the ladies there don't have much of anything upstairs :( It's also a bad thing that I had the URGE for chocolate chip cookies (*shakes fist at
theangrystar*) and baked some! T_T CHUB!
Anyway, that's all for now~.
And thanks,

Date: 2010-01-11 05:56 am (UTC)You could at least (and I say this selfishly) throw it up on Cafepress for a select few of us to...hrm.
That's not optimal. But seriously, doesn't this fall under fair usage?

Date: 2010-01-11 06:01 am (UTC)Also, I've had my own problems with CafePress. Their stuff isn't very high quality and I don't like their Terms and Agreement. It's been awhile since I read it through thoroughly but I remember them trying to claim ownership of images that were uploaded onto their site. I could be totally wrong but still.

Date: 2010-01-11 06:04 am (UTC)Also, there's this option from photobucket. L al alalalaaalala I didn't say anything. Le sigh, you are right on the Beeb. I bet Joss wouldn't really care, but the Beeb shut that one person down for the dalek knitting patterns, didn't they? Bastards.

Date: 2010-01-11 06:19 am (UTC)Well, if you somehow get the Beeb, Joss, Neil, and John to all send me e-mails going, "We love your work and we won't sue you or make you give us money, go ahead and sell the piece!" then I'll totally do it!

Date: 2010-01-11 05:01 pm (UTC)It was so fun to see you and hang out with you, and I'm glad you had fun at the party. It was quite the ruckus.
Also, still amazed by all our connected ties!!

Date: 2010-01-11 06:56 pm (UTC)Also, I tried adding cinnamon and nutmeg to my chocolate chip cookie recipe like you did, it instantly made it better! The dough is more flavorful and it cuts down the greasy taste from all that butter.
