Anaheim Comic Con Report

bluejeans07Being stuck behind a table meant that I didn't get much of a chance to see a lot of the convention, but some really awesome cosplayers wandered my way. :D
It also meant that whenever I left the table to wander around, I got horrendously lost. -_- At one point, I got lost in the celebrity area and thought I was heading towards my table but ended up at the opposite end of the con where registration was! carmilla who was volunteering at the con though! :D And I got to meet Yvonne Craig, which made 4th Grader me squeal. The 60's Batgirl was a huge hero for me when I was a kid, I even dressed up as her for Halloween... twice. XD

Black Lightening and Green Lantern! Jon Stewart is probably my favorite Green Lantern (pfft, Hal Jordan).
Batwoman! Her pose= win.
BATMOBILEEE! I got to watch a horde of volunteers help push the Batmobile from one side of the con to the other when the con ended, it was hilarious! I walked by it on my way out and when no one was looking, I poked it. 4th Grader me did another squee and a happy dance.
And of course...
WORLDS FINEST! I wish I got their pictures together, oh what a delight that would've been! Also, that Superman was not wearing a padded costume.
And now for VILLAINS!

And the Joker got away but not before I snapped him with my camera.
THIS GUY. He was my favorite! He was at the con all three days and came by my table each day with a different, elaborate costume. On Friday, he was Sandman from Spider-man, on Saturday, he was Doctor Octopus with light up tentacles, and on Sunday, he was the most amazing Two Face I had ever seen.
A lovely Leia with the R2D2 from the R2D2 Builders Club. My table was near their booth and it got annoying after awhile hearing all the little beeps and boops. But I forgave them whenever they wheeled through and had the R2 units peer curiously at different people.
There is a little girl under that mask. No really. She also had a different costume each day, but the Chibi Boba is pretty amazing. Her parents looked so proud! XD
I also met Tim Bradstreet who is my favorite cover artist for my favorite comic series Hellblazer. It was fun to meet him! We talked about Hellblazer, art, the biz, etc. His drawings are just gorgeous and he can ink like no one's business!
I had also hoped to meet voice actor Phil LaMarr at the con and talk to him about how we both worked on 'Popzilla' and how I've kind of grown up with his voice, but whenever I went by his table, he wasn't there. Also, between commissions, I drew a Jon Stewart card for fun and to remind me that I should try to find him, but it was getting towards the end of the con and I couldn't leave the table due to last minute sales. The thing is, I didn't even really know how he looked like or how his 'real' voice sounded like (all of his characters sound very different from each other as well), so it was at the end of Sunday, I pretty much gave up trying to catch him. So when I was standing behind my table chatting with my friend, a very well dressed man walked by and glanced at my Jon Stewart card. Our eyes met and I gave him a cheery, "Hello!" in which he said, "Hi!" back to me, and I kind of blinked because damn, he had a really nice voice!
It didn't strike me until I was packing up that that could have been Phil LaMarr. A google search today proved that yup. That was Phil LaMarr. DAMN! *facepalm*
Oh well, at least now I know how he looks like and next time, I'll hopefully have my JL dvds for him to sign. XD
