For the past few days, I've been seeing news articles and a video on Youtube labeled 'Obama Loses His Cool', and today I finally clicked on it.
At the very least, I expected some chair throwing. There wasn't even a satisfying flush of green in his cheeks.
Oh okay, as awesome as that would have been, I didn't really expect our current president to transform into the Hulk. But if sitting through an interview, then removing his microphone to say in a very calm yet tight voice, "Let me finish my answers next time" is losing his cool, then I must have severe anger issues by comparison. If I was sitting in that chair, that reporter probably would've had his nuts shoved up his nose with how rude and unprofessional he was. There was some eyerolling, a lot interrupting and a lot of comments that sounded a lot like, "YOU DID THIS, YOU DID YOU DID, DON'T SAY YOU DIDN'T BECAUSE YOU DID!"
To be fair, both Obama and the interviewer, Brad Watson, were both being snippy with each other and it couldn't have been clearer that neither of them agreed on anything, but seriously? Has it been a slow news week that reliable news sources just had to report that Obama got snippy with a reporter and then didn't report at the same time that the reporter was being equally snippy back at him?! Or are reporters supposed to be rude to the people that they interview and so their behavior is considered 'of the norm' whereas Obama, being the president, has to be sunshine and rainbows all the time? I understand that there are times when reporters have to be tough in order to get the story, but I thought being tough meant being like... Lois Lane tough. Going into dangerous areas or asking hard questions that has evidence to back it up. Standing up against the Lex Luthors of the world, that sort of thing. Not rolling their eyes or not letting the interviewee a chance to actually answer the question completely.
