Okay, Jean has been reading a LOT of fanfiction lately and Jean is putting up a short list of her favorites!
Lord of the Rings Fanfiction
The Care and Feeding of Hobbits by Baylor

Written by a 29 year old English lit graduate, it reads well, sticks to canon and is HILARIOUS! The story is told from Boromir's point of view about hobbits and his conclusions are hilarious to charming to 'awwww... Boromir's not a dork after all!'
Baylor is a great writer so I recommend reading anything on her page, my personal favorites are 'Elf Envy' (in which Legolas's elfhood gets wounded... but not by a maiden... and it's not slash!) and 'Did I say Bosom?' (in which Merry is a very naughty little hobbit).

Basically, a girl from 'our world' wakes up in Middle Earth... in the middle of a bog. Don't worry, it's the FARTHEST thing from a Mary Sue! She goes through what life could've been like in Bree and in Rivendell... and she doesn't join the fellowship =P Penny's a regular girl used to regular conviniences (like soap, shampoo, conditioner and tampons) in a place where stuff like that don't exist! It's intersting how she has to make do and how the elves do things ^o^

Now these two are a MUST READ for any Gundam Wing fanfiction reader! They are the epitome of good fanfiction writers, with original pairings, very very original storylines and many many other qualities. Jean worships them. Nuff said.
