Going to Hall of Fire was just what I need to cheer up ^o^ Thank you for going with me, Mira! Anyway, the two of us dressed up in elegant black and went down to Hollywood Athletics Club for food, fun, and fantasy!
It was a very geeky party... VERY but it was the geekiness that made it fun! Almost everyone was in costume, lots and lots of really great ones! There were a few Aragorns, there was one really GREAT one that I posed with (I'll post pictures sometime), very many Arwens, a few Frodos... one Sam... one incredibly TALL Ringwraith, as well as a wonderful Bilbo, aannnd... TOM BOMBADIL!! All hail Tom Bombadil!
Mira tried to bid on a great piece of artwork of two couples but someone outbid her =( To console ourselves, we bought pretty handmade jewelry! Lots of pretty pretty stuff! I got a necklace and earring set out of blue tiger's eye that were set in a gorgeous leaf motif. Mira got a gorgeous hairclip with a green stone and a black chocker with a cameo. It looked fantastic on her!
We also watched poetry readings of original and Tolkien's work, as well as listened to people playing the harp and the flute. We also saw the Brobdingnagian Bards (www.thebards.net) and they were just wonderful! Like the ones at RenFaire, but from Texas. So I asked them to be at the Faire next time, but they did say that they'll be at Comic Con next year XD Yay! Mira bought their CD so I'm going to give her $ for half and she'll burn it for me! =D There were also a Frodo cosplayer and random elf cosplayer singing a parody on a blues song called 'The One Ring Blues'. Very very funny!
Overall, it was as great night and I had a lot of fun dressing up and running around!
