I say this over and over and over at school whenever we're talking about movies and their artistic influences: Lord of the Rings is soooooo art nouveau! Today, I finally bought the Fellowship Extended version (Rey gave me Two Towers for Christmas) and I was watching the second Appendix DVD and the Weta workers commented how art nouveau Lothlorian was! And so is Rivendell! Ok, elves in general are art nouveau. But anyway, the art nerd in me is dancing like Tom Bombadill on a poetry spree because I pointed it out before I was confirmed for it. I'm learning more and more everyday about different art movements and I'm completely and utterly in love with one of art nouveau's most famous illustrators Alfonso Mucha.

Here are my reasons for saying elves are art nouveau:
